Who Am I?
I am an experienced Ayurvedic, Reiki and Chi Nei Tsang practitioner in Shuswap, British Columbia, Canada who has studied and trained under various distinguished teachers and masters. I also have a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BScN) from the University of Victoria. I established Five Petals in 2014.
Before practicing these Eastern therapies and alternative techniques, I worked as a Registered Nurse (RN) for over 20 years in both hospital and community setting. It was during this time that I witnessed both the benefits and the limitations of the allopathic method (Western medicine). This, as well as a personal health crisis, compelled me to investigate complementary approaches and solutions to health and wellness. I wanted to live what I believed – that nature itself has the wisdom and power to heal, and that we hold this wisdom and power within our very being. I became a Reiki (energy healing) master who applied the technique in hospitals for over 5 years. In addition, I went on to gain certification as an Ayurvedic practitioner and teacher of meditation and received intensive training in Chi Nei Tsang since 2013. I continue to expand my healing knowledge with recently completed studies in Animal Communication. And in June, 2018 I completed Healing Light Yoga teacher training with New World Ayurveda. This is a powerful technique that brings together breathwork, gentle yoga asana, subtle intention, as well as many other ‘tools’, to bring balance to the chakras. It is ‘panchakarma’ for the nervous system and heals all levels of our being.
